I’ve often wished I had wrestled, and now that I see the boys doing well, it makes me wish I had that I had that much more. I have to wonder if I would have taken to booze the way I did if I had had a sport of my own that I was really passionate about. Alas, that’s nothing to worry myself about that, so we’ll stop that talk right now.
But the boys did continue to do well this weekend. Both finished first in their division. They were small groups, Simon’s only had four wrestlers and Finn’s had three, but Simon beat the three kids he had to beat and Finn beat his two.
The victories bring them to 22-4 in four tournaments over the last three weekends.
This week, they racked up a 5-0 record with three pins, and for the combined five matches they only allowed two points. Simon pinned one of his opponents and won his other two matches by 12-0 and 10-0 counts. Finn pinned both of his opponents, one in something like 13 seconds, while the second one pushed him to extra time before scoring a takedown and pin against a boy who matched up pretty well with him.
Now we have three weeks off as they prepare for the Pennsylvania Junior Wresting Association (PJWs) qualifier on March 4. I’ll let you know how that all turns out.
Be well, my friends. I’ll see you back here sometime soon.
My love and heartiest congratulations to your both sons.I am happy at their achievements. I am sure they would do well in their junior Wrestling champ too starting 4th march-All the best.
Thanks, Ravi. Keep us in your prayers, as you remain in ours.
