A nine minute and 23 second recipe for getting well (if you lived through the 70s and believe that when we get together to make art we can recreate ourselves for the better) /or/ A bit of time spent with live Jackson Browne, “The Load Out” and “Stay”

So here’s what I did: I wasn’t doing so well mentally, and I knew a little music would steer me back to where I wanted to be. I played a song, which doesn’t need mentioning, on YouTube, and let it roll.  This was the third video that played. It made all the difference.

I sat and watched, listening to every word the singer sings, his love of the process so evident, the word painting of a rock and roll concert. When the full band kicked I began to play drums on the desk and  continued to do so until it ended. I teared a little when the first back-up vocalist sang and was jubilant with the band at the end.

So, maybe, if you need and you have ten minutes…it might help.
